Ms. Hoban has extensive experience in all aspects of trial practice. Her practice is concentrated in complex litigation and she focuses in areas of personal injury, wrongful death, and survival actions, including injuries and catastrophic loss arising from motor vehicle and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, premise liability and liquor liability cases.
Ms. Hoban works tirelessly on behalf of her clients who are injured by preventable mistakes and unnecessary accidents caused by others to ensure that a client whose life was derailed as a result of an injury gets a great result.
Ms. Hoban is most proud of the fact that, in addition to winning large monetary verdicts for her clients and their families – her firm and cases have spurred public safety changes and have shaped policies and procedures to ensure other families are spared horrific tragedies.
Admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of Colorado, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United State Court of Appeals for the Third District, and the United States Supreme Court.
Leadership & Experience
Her active civil litigation practice has brought Ms. Hoban extensive trial experience. She has tried hundreds of cases in both federal and state court ranging from homicide to complex civil matters, resulting in millions of dollars in successful settlements and/or favorable verdicts on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Hoban’s noteworthy cases contain a landmark Civil Rights Action in federal court against the Department of Human Services and City defendants (see Memorandum and Order filed in the matter of Tazioly, et al vs. City of Philadelphia, et al.). This case has been followed and cited nationally by various federal and state courts in holding state agencies accountable for the safety and welfare of minor children in their care. Following, Ms. Hoban was quoted in an August 25, 2008, Philadelphia Inquirer article entitled Suits against DHS “are hard cases to win.” Ms. Hoban is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
